Refund Policy

Effective from July 15, 2014

At Cigma Medical Coding Academy, we are committed to delivering quality education and maintaining transparent policies across all training programs, including Medical Coding, Billing, Revenue Cycle Management (RCM), Health Information Management (HIM), Medical Coding Auditing, and Home Health Coding.

1. Training Fees
Course Fee:

The course fee paid at the time of enrollment is non-refundable under any circumstances.

Before Course Commencement:
  • Cancellation 7 days-14 days before the scheduled start date: 50% of the course fee will be refunded.
  • Cancellation within 7 days of the course start date: 25% of the course fee will be refunded.
After Course Commencement:
  • No refund will be granted once the student has attended any portion of the course.
  • In exceptional cases (such as medical or personal emergencies), a partial refund may be considered on a case-by-case basis, subject to submission of valid supporting documents and approval from the management.

Note: Students are encouraged to carefully review the course details and refund policy prior to enrollment, as refunds are limited and strictly governed.

2. Exam Fees (Certification Boards)
  • Exam fees collected by Cigma on behalf of certification boards (e.g., AAPC, AHIMA) will be refunded only if the registration has not been completed or scheduled with the respective board.
  • Once the exam is registered and scheduled, no refund will be issued under any circumstances.
  • Any applicable refund related to exam fees will be processed only after receiving confirmation and reimbursement from the respective board, if the fee was paid by Cigma on the student’s behalf.
3. Refund Mode & Processing Time

All approved refunds will be processed within 21 working days through the original mode of payment or via direct bank transfer.

4. Academy-Initiated Cancellations

In the unlikely event that Cigma Medical Coding Academy cancels or postpones a batch, students will be offered the option to:

Join the next available batch without any additional fee.

5. Refund Request Procedure

All refund requests must be submitted in writing to accounts@cigmamedicalcoding.com and must include:

  • Full Name
  • Course Enrolled
  • Reason for Refund Request
  • Proof of Payment (if available)

Note: Verbal communication is not accepted for refund processing. Only written requests will be considered, and the date of receipt of the written request will be used to calculate refund eligibility.

6. Non-Transferability

Course fees and admission rights are non-transferable to other individuals or future batches unless specifically approved in writing by the management.
