In a powerful step toward building a drug-free Kerala, Cigma
Medical Coding, in collaboration with the Kerala Excise Department
and FirstAid, officially launched a year-long anti-drug awareness
campaign on April 11th, 2025, at St. George’s School, Edappally.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by a host of
dignitaries, including Neethu Bibin, CEO of Cigma Medical Coding, and
the Ernakulam Excise Deputy Commissioner, along with several eminent
political leaders, cultural icons, film personalities, and social activists.
Their collective presence underscored the urgency and importance of united
action against substance abuse.
The campaign is designed to run throughout the year with a
series of impactful activities, including 100 awareness classes aimed at
educating youth and communities about the dangers of drug abuse. One of the
highlights of the campaign will be an inter-institutional art festival,
encouraging students from various schools and colleges to express their
anti-drug messages through art, music, drama, and other creative mediums.
The event commenced with a vibrant friendly football
match, symbolizing the power of sports in promoting healthy lifestyles. The
match witnessed enthusiastic participation and camaraderie, with Cigma
Medical Coding emerging victorious, setting the tone for the campaign’s
energetic and engaging approach.
Speaking at the event, Neethu Bibin emphasized the
role of educational institutions in shaping a responsible and aware generation.
“At Cigma, we believe that empowering young minds with the right knowledge and
support is the key to a drug-free future,” she stated.
The Ernakulam Excise Deputy Commissioner also highlighted
the department’s commitment to working closely with civil society and private
organizations. “This collaborative initiative is an example of how united
efforts can create meaningful impact in the fight against drugs,” he added.
This year-long initiative reflects a holistic approach to
awareness, focusing not just on information dissemination but also on fostering
creativity, dialogue, and community participation. With consistent efforts
planned across multiple districts, the campaign aims to reach thousands of
students, parents, and educators.
As the campaign gains momentum, it promises to be a model
for how public-private partnerships can drive impactful social change. Cigma
Medical Coding, Kerala Excise Department, and FirstAid invite everyone to join
the mission to #KickOutDrugs and build a brighter, healthier future for
the next generation.
