Job Requirements:

• Education: Any Degree
• 1 year - 5 years’ Experience in HCC Coding
• Certification: CPC or Equivalent
• Excellent knowledge in Anatomy
• Good knowledge of medical coding systems, medical terminologies, regulatory requirements, auditing concepts and principles

Job Descriptions:

1. Assign codes to diagnoses and procedures, using ICD (International Classification of Diseases) and CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) codes
2. Accurately assign ICD-10-CM codes that map to Hierarchical Condition Categories (HCCs) for risk adjustment.
3. Apply official coding and risk adjustment guidelines, including those from CMS, to ensure codes correctly reflect patient conditions.
4. Ensure that all assigned codes are supported by the clinical documentation in the record.
5. Maintain high accuracy and productivity standards for coding and auditing.
6. Perform retrospective, concurrent, and prospective audits of coded records to ensure quality and compliance.
7. Verify that physician documentation supports the assigned diagnosis codes.
8. Identify coding errors, discrepancies, and inconsistencies during audits.
