Job Requirements:

  • Life Science Graduates only.

  • CPC/CCA Certified/ Non Certified

  • Good knowledge of medical coding systems, medical terminologies, regulatory requirements, auditing concepts and principles.

  • Candidates should have good knowledge of the Indian system of grouping diagnoses and procedures for hospital billing. Understanding the IPDRG guidelines is critical.

Job Descriptions:

  • Assign appropriate ICD-10-CM (International Classification of Diseases, 10th Revision, Clinical Modification) diagnosis codes and ICD-10-PCS (Procedure Coding System) codes to inpatient records based on physician documentation.

  • Review patient medical records, including progress notes, lab results, imaging reports, and discharge summaries to ensure all diagnoses and procedures are coded accurately.

  • Accurately assign the correct Diagnosis-Related Group (DRG) code based on the patient's diagnosis, comorbidities, and treatments received. DRG codes are essential for hospital reimbursement and cost management.

  • Learn how different diseases and conditions map into distinct groups for payment or reimbursement purposes under the IPDRG.

  • The role requires high attention to detail to ensure all information is coded accurately. Even small mistakes in coding can result in billing errors or delayed claims.

  • Keeping abreast of industry standards.

Salary: 20K (Half yearly salary revision of Rs. 5000 based on performance)
