Australian Clinical Coding Training

Clinical Coders convert information from a patient’s medical record into alphanumerical codes according to a health classification system. Assigning accurate codes is the key for quality information exchange for better care in healthcare. So the clinical coders should have excellent attention to detail in order to produce high levels of coding accuracy, payment accuracy , quality care and meaningful research. To achieve the expected level of accuracy , clinical coders are developed with comprehensive training, practical oriented coding activities and evaluation criteria.

Australian Coding classification are following in Australia, New Zealand, Qatar, Singapore, Ireland, Saudi Arabia, Fiji, Tonga, Hong Kong, Bahrain.

Clinical Coding training Providing by EHE- an Australian Gov. Recognised RTO

This course is designed and provided by eHealth Education- an Australian government recognised RTO for those seeking to continue the journey of a clinical coding career. It includes explanations, theory, practice exercises for abstracting and coding. And also It encourages students to develop their self-learning skills, analyse coding standards, teaching workplace mentoring and develops coders to undertake more advanced coding activities.

A registered Training Organisation is an organisation accredited by the Australian Skills Quality Authority which is the national regulator for Australian Vocational education and training sector. ASQA regulated courses and training providers to ensure nationally approved quality standards are met.

Recognition of Course

Cigma medical coding  is an authorised partner of eHealth Education(RTO#: 32279) a registered training organisation of Australia to issue the clinical coding training and qualifications including certificates for clinical coding courses.

  • HLTADM005 Produce coded clinical data
  • SBMED301 Interpret medical terminology appropriately (Recognition of prior learning)

You will receive the certificates of attainment from Australian government recognised registered training organisation upon successful completion of course. If you do not pass you may request for the attendance certificates.

Cigma is the authorised to undertake student recruitment and support services on behalf of eHealth Education using eHE’s cloud based online delivery service, and learning application with Australian qualified coding trainers. The educational support service includes the provision welfare and support service as well as additional classroom based student tutoring (where appropriate) on behalf of eHE for each course on offer.

TRAINING IS DESIGNED IN DIFFERENT LEVELS

Clinical coding Courses are available are designed in different level. These different levels of training gives you step by step(level by level) pathway to a career as a clinical coder.

Develop your coding skills to begin the coding journey, this course includes the first part of the Diploma of Clinical Coding and brings students up to Basic Coding level. We recognize those who successfully complete this course for continuing on and completing the Diploma.

DCC – Level I

DCC – Level II

Using the International Classification of Diseases and the Australian Classification of Interventions in Healthcare and the Australian Coding Standards (ICD-10-AM, ACHI, and ACS).

Opportunities after doing this course

This course may be recognised for employment in Hospitals, Government, Insurance and Research organisations. Start as a basic coder, further skills needed to be a professional ‘entry level’.
